You've done all the hard work bringing this baby into the world, let me do the rest in capturing them in this fleeting, blurry, exciting time! Newborn sessions take place in the comfort of your own home to give you the opportunity to sit back and relax, enjoy a hot shower, cup of coffee or a well deserved nap knowing your new baby is in safe hands.
Before the session
The best timing to capture the snuggly, curly newborn poses is within the first two weeks after baby is born. Scheduling your session before baby arrives ensures schedule availability and peace of mind once your little one arrives.
We'll chat about your session goals and color pallet that best suits your taste.
In order to plan the timing of your session, we'll pencil in a date two weeks after your due date.
Once baby is born, send me a quick message within the first 48 hours to let me know the big news! We'll schedule the session date within the 7-14 day window that best works for the both of us.
I'll be in touch with you before your session to help prepare you on what to expect. I have lots of tips and tricks on how to get baby nice and sleepy before our session.
During the Session
Babies are already so in tune with your mood. The more relaxed you are, the more relaxed baby is.
This is your time to put your feet up and have fun!
Baby's safety is my number one priority! With that in mind, sessions can take anywhere from two to three hours, leaving lots of room to comfort, settle and feed baby. Baby is never put into a position they're not comfortable with. If a baby doesn't settle into a specific pose, we'll move on to the next set up. Baby is boss!
Pee and poop are are a natural occurrence in newborn photography. It's always going to happen, its just a matter of when. There's no need to worry or feel embarrassed. I always have lots of blankets and towels on hand (and an extra outfit- just in case). It's a badge of honor I'm happy to wear. With that said, all props/hats/blankets are cleaned with baby safe detergent after every session.
Do I need to bring or buy anything?
I'll bring all the equipment, baskets, props, hats, headbands and blankets.
If you have a special family heirloom, I'd love to incorporate them too!
What if baby is already born?
I'm always happy to photograph older babies, but with the understanding that older babies won't settle or curl as easily. But we'll get plenty of awake and wrapped shots!
What does this include?
Price includes: pre consultation, travel, use of professional props, session time and editing time.
Clients will receive 15 fully edited high resolution images on an online gallery.
